As the season hit the home stretch an already depleted Oregon roster fell victim to the wear and tear of a 52 game season and the Sun Devils took full advantage.
A three-run first inning gave ASU all the runs they would need as the Ducks were held to one hit, a lead-off double into left center by Haley Cruse.
The Sun Devils settled matters early again in game two, slapping a five-spot on the scoreboard in their first at bat and never looked back in the 10-1 win. Oregon’s lone highlight was sophomore Shaye Bowden’s seventh home run of the season in the fifth inning.
In Saturday’s finale the Ducks were at least able to avoid the big first inning and took a 2-1 lead into the third when ASU struck for six runs and three more in the fourth to spoil the senior day celebrations and end Oregon’s season without a post season berth for the first time since 2010.
Oregon finishes the year with a record of 22-30 overall and in last place in the Pac-12 at 5-19.
