Strong Second Half Lifts Ducks Past Liberty 20-12

The Oregon Ducks opened their 2020 lacrosse season with a 20-12 victory over Liberty Saturday afternoon at Pape` Field.

Lillian Stump and Shonly Wallace each netted five goals to lead the Ducks in scoring.

A back and forth first period ended with the Ducks stringing together four straight goals only to yield three in a row to the Eagles to close out the first half and to open the second.

With Oregon leading 10-9 the Ducks began to pull away, outscoring Liberty 6-1 over the next 20 minutes of play and they used a four goal stretch to ice the contest.

Oregon departs on a three game swing to Jacksonville, Stetson and 10th-ranked Denver before returning to Pape` Field to host UC Davis on Sunday, March 1st beginning at 12:00 pm.
