Oregon’s Season Ends With Loss to Stanford in Pac-12 Tournament

The 2019 season came to an end for the Oregon Ducks with a 17-6 loss to Stanford in the opening round of the Pac-12 Conference tournament Thursday evening at Pape` Field.

The Ducks opened the scoring at just under the 26 minute mark with Lillian Stump’s free shot.

But the Cardinal outscored the Ducks 10-2 the rest of the half and cruised to a semifinal matchup with Colorado.

Stanford had the statistical edge in every category, out shooting the Ducks 47-13 and forcing Oregon into 25 turnovers, while besting the Ducks in draw controls 19-5 and free position shots 10-4.

One bright spot for the home side was freshman keeper Rachel Hall setting a school record with 21 saves.

With a roster that featured 16 freshmen or sophomores under first year head coach Chelsea Gamble Oregon finished the season with a record of 3-15 overall and 1-9 in Pac-12 play.
