Oregon Holds Off Aggies 8-4

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAThe Oregon Ducks salvaged a split of their two match Mountain Pacific Sports Federation home stand with an 8-4 win over UC Davis Sunday at Pape` Field.

Carly O’Connell, Bella Payne and Sami, Kiser each netted a pair of goals to lift the Ducks past the Aggies and into second place tie in the conference standings with a record of 4-1.

Oregon held a 26-14 advantage in shots taken and UC Davis was whistled for 28 fouls compared to the Ducks’ 19.

Keeper Caroline Federighi was credited with five saves and improved her season mark to 8-5.

Nipping right at their heels in the standings at 5-2 is Oregon’s next opponent, USC. The Ducks take to the road to face the Trojans then San Diego State (3-3).

Oregon returns to Pape` Field to face Denver on Friday, April 25th at 5:00 pm. The Ducks then close out the regular season hosting Colorado on Sunday April 27th beginning at noon.
