Loyola Marymount Blanks Ducks 4-0

The Loyola Marymount Lions (34-16) shut out the Oregon Ducks 4-0 in a non-conference match-up Wednesday evening at PK Park. It was the seventh straight setback for the struggling Ducks.

James Acuna was victimized by a three-run first inning, giving up four hits in 1.2 innings of work on a night when the Ducks would use eight pitchers.

Oregon matched the Lions with seven base hits but was unable to bunch enough of them together to get on the scoreboard. Two hits apiece from Kyle Kasser, Gabe Matthews and Morgan McCullough yielded nothing and by night’s end the Ducks would be scoreless in their last 19 innings.

Oregon’s record fell to 26-22 overall and will return to Pac-12 play with a three game series at USC, followed by a Monday non-conference match-up at UC Riverside before returning to PK Park to close out the regular season against UCLA beginning at 6:00 pm on Thursday, May 25th.
