Ducks Romp In Exhibition Final 71-32

“We got what we wanted,” said head coach Kelly Graves of the Ducks 71-32 pummeling of Westmont to close out Oregon’s exhibition schedule.

Every available player logged double digits in playing time giving Graves an extended look at a team that he expects will see contributions well down the bench in the coming season.

“Everybody got a chance to get some of the rust off, which is always a positive,” he said. “… I was impressed defensively how well we played, how hard we played, and how we created a lot of disruption and turnovers.”

With a size advantage at every position, the Ducks wrecked havoc on the Westmont offensive sets, holding the Warriors to a 24.4% mark from the floor and forcing 28 turnovers. Oregon also won the battle on the boards handily, 33-25.

Senior guard Lexi Bando scored 13 points to lead the Ducks. With regular point guard Maite Cazorla on the bench in street clothe senior Justine Hall stepped into the starting lineup and contributed 11 points. Newcomer Satou Sabally added a dozen.

The Ducks open the non-conference schedule hosting Cal State – Northridge in the opening round of the 2017 WNIT Friday at Matthew Knight Arena. Tip off is set for 5:00 pm.
