The Oregon Acrobatics and Tumbling team opened their home season with a resounding defeat of Baylor Saturday afternoon at Matthew Knight Arena. The twice defending NCATA national champions scored decisive margins in every event heat except two to outpoint the Bears 266.775 to 249.26.
From the opening compulsory event through the final team event the Ducks were clearly the more polished squad. “I don’t think it was Baylor’s best day,” said head coach Felicia Mulkey. That said, her Ducks “came in with a lot of focus to come out strong and not give up points in the tumbling events.”
Oregon didn’t and improved to 2-0 for the year. Fairmont State University is up next for the Ducks, visiting Matthew Knight Arena on Saturday, March 16th at 2:00 pm.
